Our Story

Mary and Anselmo Morales have a combined 30 plus years of experience in all aspects of the restaurant industry with Day Y Noche as their first entrepreneurial adventure. The idea for name came from both of their ethnic background: Mary (American) and Anselmo (Mexican) they decided to use both languages in their name.

Anselmo has been working in the restaurant business since he was a teenager. He also has experience working in both aspects of the restaurant. He has worked for companies such as Don Pablo’s, Cameron Mitchell, Rusty Bucket, and Graffiti Burger.

“Day Y Noche is a combination of both of us, including all of the experience and knowledge we have gained while working for others. We wanted to do something for ourselves, we have been putting in long hours for others and it was time to put those hours in for us, plus work closer to home. We thought Granville needed something different and we wanted to have our own place so we decided on Mexican cuisine. Day Y Noche is truly a family affair. My dad (Mary’s) made all of our tables (his hobby is woodworking) and my mom has been busy keeping our books as well as the kids. Anselmo put in countless hours of hard labor to get us ready for business. We had countless friends help us get everything ready: our logo was designed by my cousin: we have had lots of guests and friends contribute to our pot rack; our daughter helped named the chicken fingers on the kids menu and our son will soon have the fame of inventing the newest kids meal item: the mac ‘n’ cheese chimi.” ~ Mary Morales
